Jeep: A true original. Every Jeep® vehicle is authentic to its roots. You
can spot a Jeep® vehicle a mile away with its trademark seven-slot
grille, round headlamps and rugged stance. But owning a Jeep® vehicle
is about more than just ruggedly refined good looks. The
Jeep® brand wrote the book on 4x4. Having kept the flame of off-road
capable vehicles burning for over 69 years, we're not about to let it
go out. It's about shrugging off potholes, defying hills and having the
capability to master any terrain - paved or not. The
Jeep® Trail Rated® badge is our promise, our assurance of courageous
capability. A Trail Rated Jeep® 4x4 is a dirt-throwing, snow-gripping,
hill-defying, road-embracing, story-collecting machine. But just as
important, it represents peace of mind and confidence. Currently Jeep produces the 2010 Commander, 2010 Compass, 2010 Grand Cherokee, 2010 Patriot, 2010 Wrangler and 2010 Wrangler Unlimited.
Dodge:
Dodge is an American automaker that produces a line of passenger cars,
pickup trucks, vans, commercial vehicles, cargo vans and sport utility
vehicles. The company is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan. You can
research Dodge new cars, trucks, vans and SUVs here on NemerDodge.com. Dodge's full-line range is quite broad. The company produces the high-performance Dodge Viper sports car, the Dodge Magnum wagon, a complete series of light- and medium-duty Dodge Ram pickup trucks, the light-duty Dodge Dakota pickup truck, the Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle and a variety of other commercial and consumer vehicles. The company recently unveiled the 2008 Dodge Challenger at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show.
The Challenger is a throwback to the height of the muscle car era of
the early 1970's and reflects the current trend in retro-themed
styling. The Dodge Brothers, John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge,
originally operated the Dodge Brothers Bicycle & Machine Factory
where they manufacture bearings and other machined parts for other
automakers. In 1914, the Dodge Brothers started the Dodge Brothers
Motor Vehicle Company that produced mid-range vehicles. Three years
later in 1917 the Dodge Brothers started building trucks for the U.S.
Army. In 1925, the Dodge Brothers sold their company to Dillon, Read
& Company (a banking firm) for $146 million, the largest cash
acquisition in history at the time. The Dillon, Read & Company sold
Dodge just three years later in 1928 to Chrysler, where the brand remains to this day.
Chrysler: Chrysler LLC is the parent company to the Chrysler family of brands that includes Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler
vehicle brands. Chrysler also produces a range of up-market passenger
cars, sport utility vehicles and minivans under its own marque. You can
research Chrysler new cars here on NemerChrysler.com. The Chrysler company was created by Walter P. Chrysler in 1925. The
first Chrysler was a product of the Maxwell Motor Company released in
1924. In 1923, the company had phased out its Chalmers line of
automobiles to make room for the powerful, inexpensive 6-cylinder
Chrysler. The car was a success, and the Maxwell Motor Company was
restructured into Chrysler and the Maxwell brand was dropped the same
year. The Chrysler Corporation would go on to introduce or acquire a
variety of well-known brands with Plymouth at the entry level and
Imperial as a luxury vehicle. Passenger car and trucks brands found in
between included the DeSoto, Dodge, Valiant (absorbed by Plymouth),
Eagle, and Jeep amongst others.
